Community Council

Summary of project:

Promote southshore musicians to play at northshore venues (Green Room) by providing lodging at nearby location for free or for a small donation (donations will be used to support other projects).

To kickoff this project we need:

Lodging/ Camping space
Money/ Grants
Brochures to give to musicians with lodging info/ map
Three Rivers Lodging Proposal

The next gathering will be at the House in Madisonville hosted by Rebecca, Mark and Christian. Ideas for food, topics for discussion and things to bring are welcome for comment. The time and date for this meeting will be 2pm 01.20.08 which is a Sunday.

Hello and welcome to the Community Council Blog. This name is temporary and I invite you all to post comments to this entry with ideas on what to name this endeavor we’ve all embarked. 

This is all new to me. I’ve never used WordPress as a blogging tool and so as the admin I will probably need a little time to adjust. I was just going to use a native mac application to put something up quick but then decided why do the same thing twice. Instead I  jumped through a few more hoops and figured out a more robust solution that I feel we’ll be able to use for a while.

I’m still learning about the features WordPress (WP) offers and so I’ll update you as we go along. I have plans to load a full featured bulletin board created by the same people (WP) that will allow each person to have a user account which can then create new threads on new topics that evolve throughout our journey.

Eventually as this grows I’ll invite people to become moderators to help maintain the forum or we can all decide how this thing will be run. I imagine it will take on a similar form as the actual meetings. 

Anyway, setting this up was a bit more than I imagined but of course this is me polishing my gem so it is a labor of love. Point being that I’ll get the previous meetings minutes up soon but not by tonight.
